Character didn't matter in mid-term elections

Does anyone remember back when morally bankrupt, Bill Clinton, was president? Does anyone remember how conservative Republicans made character an issue? Character counts! Why, it is was a staple of mega millionaire, Rush Limbaugh, Sean Hannity and other GOP shills. Bill Clinton was a moral reprobate because of his consistent lying and cheating!
Apparently, the same sentiment didn't matter in the mid term elections for too many Republicans who were willing to support liars, cheats and morally bankrupt candidates (and incumbents) just because they had a R next to their name. Because we must get control of Congress away from the socialists and communists and checkmate the usurper in the Red House. True, but at what cost?
Let me give you just a few examples.
Carl Paladino [R] vs Andrew Cuomo [D] - New York Governor
Paladino has the credentials and experience to qualify being elected governor of a state. However, he has the morals of a dog in heat. Paladino sent out emails full of hard core porn. They are published on the Internet in living color. He sent out email depicting bestiality; I have seen them. Paladino's response when caught by the media: He thinks its funny. Sure, color photos of a woman having sex with a horse is real funny, Carl. He is an adulterer who fathered a child outside his marriage. Paladino also has a very rough side to his personality, i.e., telling a news media writer he would "take him out." All of this is well documented, yet I received dozens of emails from people saying it didn't matter, they were voting for Paladino. Allegedly 1,445,779 people in NY voted for Paladino despite cheating on his wife and his love of pornography. He's a moral pig, but his supporters were fiercely loyal. When someone will lie and cheat as a way of life, how can you expect them to be honest with you?
Cuomo is the typical morally bankrupt Democrat who became the Attorney General for NY after Eliot Spitzer self-destructed over paying for sex with whores. Cuomo is married to a Kennedy; allegedly he received 2,602,443 votes. Good luck, New York.
Dan Maes [R] vs John Hickenlooper [D] vs Tom Tancredo [CP] -- Colorado Governor
"Maes was forced to defend his character and credibility last week after reports surfaced that he may have been less than truthful when addressing his role with the Kansas Bureau of Investigation 25 years ago. Maes had originally suggested that he was dismissed from his position with the department because he got “too close” to the case. But law enforcement in Kansas disputed the claim."

But law enforcement in Kansas disputed the claim when interviewed by the Denver Post. <>The controversy has not been Maes’ first since hitting the campaign trail. Campaign finance violations have also been raised related to recouping more than $42,000 from his campaign for mileage. Maes also acknowledged never gathering employer and occupation information from donors. Maes has also refused to release his full 2009 tax returns to the public. When asked whether he would release the return, Maes said there were still “unresolved issues” for his accountant to work out. When asked if that included an audit, Maes said he did not know, and that his wife handles all the financials in their household. Maes has released his earlier returns to a conservative Web site, but much of the information was redacted."
That race was acrimonious with Republicans angry because Tancredo left the GOP to run against Maes. But then Republicans found out they were supporting a garbage truck named Maes who would guarantee a win for progressive Democrat, Hickenlooper. Tancredo is popular because of his stand on stopping the illegals invasion, but was part of the Band Aid Brigade when he served in Congress. Maes is a liar and a cheat. Allegedly 187,998 Coloradans voted for such an individual.
Far left progressive, John Hickenlooper allegedly received 856,569 votes. Tancredo allegedly 620,626 votes. Had Maes dropped out and Tancredo ran as a Republican, most likely he would have beat Hickenlooper - although with electronic machines and scanners counting the votes, who knows. Now the voters of Colorado will have to live with another dumb, liberal visionary with no clue.
Mark Kirk [R] vs Alexi Giannoulias [D] -- Obama/Soetoro's old senate seat in Illinois
"This year, Illinois voters are faced witha more traditional choice between, as it's been presented to them, a liar and a thief.....
"But 2010 was not to be a good government year here, and the Illinois race locked in its ugliness early. When Giannouilas’s family bank collapsed in April, Kirk saw an opportunity to finish off the 34-year-old state treasurer, who had won his primary in over a lesser-known reformer and despite the opposition of his friends in the White House. The bank collapse wasn't just a personal embarrassment: It wiped out the rationale for his campaign.
“He wanted to promote himself as a financial whiz kid,” said Brian Gaines, a professor at the University of Illinois.
"Now, “to the extent that he had a positive message, it's not that he's good with money — it's that he's a friend with Obama,” Gaines said.
"Giannoulias was left for dead, fleeing the press while Kirk — whose thoughtful mien makes a senatorial contrast to the youthful Democrat — coasted. Until The Washington Post reported on Memorial Day that Kirk had claimed a military honor he never received — the first in a series of reported exaggerations.
"And at that point, the logic of the race became clear. “They had to take each other down,” said Don Rose, a veteran Chicago Democratic political consultant. And so they have. Their television ads have carried relatively simple messages, aiming to broaden critiques of each man's personal flaws into a disqualification for governance. Kirk, Giannoulias’s argument goes, can't be trusted — either on the details of his past or his allegiance to moderate policy views.
"Kirk makes a parallel case that Giannoulias’s personal “immaturity” and his loans to “felons and mobsters” will translate into a tax-and-spend senator.
"And the local press has generally been all to happy to play along — having first sharpened its knives on Giannoulias and then turned to Kirk with some delight. Just days before Election Day, the two men spent back-to-back press conferences Thursday night continuing to avoid specific questions. Kirk has yet to explain why he exaggerated his résumé. (“Why did you lie?” was a typical question from the press.) Giannoulias has yet to answer the classic Watergate question — what did he know, and when did he know it? — about his family bank's loans to crime figures and instead expresses offense at the slur to the business founded by his late father."
Mark Kirk is a liar which apparently makes him qualified to serve in Congress since he allegedly pulled enough votes from Illinois voters who don't care about character: 1,765,594.
Christine O'Donnell [R] vs Chris Coons [D] - Delaware Senate seat
I've already written about O'Donnell; read here. Second, I believe the O'Donnell race in Delaware was rigged during the primary. Mike Castle, a RINO who voted good about 30% of the time, was defeated by wanna be politician, Christine O'Donnell. Called "a shocking win." Had Castle won, he would have beat Coons in the general election.
There was no way O'Donnell could win despite all the hoopla. One has to understand how the game is played. Her alleged primary win guaranteed a win for progressive, Chris Coons. The shadow government loves it when their plans come together. With all the anti-incumbent fever, it was critical to at least keep the senate in the hands of the Democrats. Why? Trade agreements, the Supreme Court, federal judges and amnesty and that means keeping Hooter Harry (Reid). O'Donnell allegedly received 123,025 votes despite her being a liar and most likely spent years cheating her adoring fans by using campaign donations to pay her personal bills instead of getting a real job. Coons is a liar and cheat, but Democrats don't seem to care, either.
Linda McMahon [R] vs Richard Blumenthal [D] - Connecticut Senate
I would not have voted for McMahon because she is pro war, believes the general government has authority to regulate education and a few other things. She allegedly received 493,158 votes. The people of Connecticut allegedly elected (under an amendment that was NOT ratified) another liar, Richard Blumenthal. He allegedly received 627,085 votes and was defended by too many veterans who said character doesn't matter because they voted for Blumenthal and his promises. He will be perfect for the U.S. Senate.
Juan McCain [R] vs Rodney Glassman [D] - Arizona Senate
McCain is one of the most consistent liars and scum bags to ever serve in Congress. He sold out our POW/MIAs and has supported rewarding illegal aliens (for votes) over and over with amnesty. Of course, this election cycle he sang a different tune for votes. That liar allegedly received 926,372 votes. While his opponent in the primary, J.D. Hayworth, was nothing more than part of the Band Aid Brigade while he served in Congress, the voters of Arizona preferred a piece of garbage tied to organized crime instead.
Last, but not least, Joe Miller [R] vs Lisa Murkowski [Write in] vs Scott McAdams [D] up in Alaska.
Miller won the GOP primary and was considered a sure win.....until his past caught up with him:
"This week, the uber-conservative Ben Stein described Republican Alaska Senate and Tea Party nominee Joe Miller as a "dangerous, stupid clown" in the Alaska Dispatch."
Miller refused to answer basic and reasonable inquiries including why he receives disability pay from the military. He held a news conference to tell reporters he wasn't going to answer questions about his past, including his work for local government. Miller tried to squash routine inquiries about being disciplined while working for the Fairbanks North Star Borough. Media organizations sued for personnel records. Those records revealed that Miller had used government computers to try to influence an on line poll to oust the head of the Alaska Republican Party. In order to vote repeatedly without detection, he alternated between three computers and erased the caches in each one. In other words, Miller used vote fraud in an attempt to have his way. This morning I watched Judge Andrew Napolitano on FOX as he was discussing the legalities of write in candidates and spelling of the candidates' name say he wants Joe Miller to win. How disappointing.
Joe Miller is a liar and a cheat. Allegedly, he's received 82,180 votes to date from Alaskans who apparently believe character doesn't count. Write in, Lisa Murkowski, who hasn't a clue what the U.S. Constitution says, voted for the illegal stimulus grand larceny and supports killing more American jobs with free trade, allegedly has 92,979 votes.
Well, as the old saying goes, you get what you pay for so don't be surprised when the above winners lie right to your face two minutes after they've been sworn in. Just remember you voted for them knowing they were liars and cheats.
There were a number of candidates elected who I believe are moral individuals and mean well, but none of them addressed solutions, only more "cut the deficit, smaller government" rhetoric without addressing the core cancers killing this republic. Too many are war mongers who support continuing the illegal invasions and occupation of Iraq and Afghanistan. Most of them have no clue about federal jurisdiction. Hopefully, their informed constituents will make their voices heard about stopping all this illegal foreign "aid", getting us out of the UN, Bretton Woods, etc. I won't hold my breath. Not with despicable king pins like John Boehner as Speaker of the House and another damn job killing Republican, Eric Cantor, who is feeding the party faithful more Band Aids, but never touches on the real solutions to "big government".
One note about the Hooter Harry (Reid) vs Sharron Angle race in Nevada. On November 11, 2010, I spoke with a nice man at Mrs. Angle's office in Las Vegas. My question was: Will there be a recount because the drop dead date for certification of the vote is November 22, 2010? Response: Mrs. Angle has been meeting with her attorneys to explore all options on how to proceed. There's no question in my mind vote fraud put Hooter Harry, a corrupt career politician on the same scale as Juan McCain, over the top. If Mrs. Angle would just audit the vote in some of the biggest precincts in Las Vegas alone, the numbers will not match (registered voters v how many voted) as well as illegals voting. Blackboxvoting.org has an excellent overview about election fraud and what candidates must look for during an audit of the vote. I guess we'll soon find out what Mrs. Angle is going to do.
Why did so many Republicans vote for such smarmy candidates? Because it was either their party or a Democrat. Same old story every two years. Back in 2003, I wrote a column titled, Declare your candidacy now. In March 2009, I wrote another column titled, Now is the time to identify candidates for 2010. And, still, look at the caliber of individuals above. Don't you think it's a sad commentary on moral values vs political promises? What happened to character counts?
I'm not just referring to the lying, adultery and a cheat like Joe Miller, I'm talking about Republican Mark Kirk, senator elect from Illinois. Kirk supports killing unborn babies and bowel movement sex (sodomy preferred by "gays"). How many Catholics voted for him? "Catholics voted an amazing 56 percent for the GOP candidate and 39 percent for the Democrat." Those voters are Catholic in name only. You cannot be Catholic and support any candidate who is pro abortion and supports sexual deviants. Mark Kirk is also wrong on so many issues, he may as well have run as a progressive Democrat. He flat out has zero understanding of Art. 1, Sec. 8 of the U.S. Constitution.
Despite all the talented Americans in this country who would make excellent public servants, individuals who don't have a history of lying, cheating and deception, look at what caliber of individual ends up -- again -- being the only choice shoved down your throat. Oh, they all talk the big game: lower taxes, smaller government. It's nothing but empty political gas. I wonder if Americans who voted for the liars and cheats above will still think it's okay a year or two from now when the situation is far, far worse -- whether it was worth it to flush their own moral code down the toilet for empty promises of jobs and "stopping Obama"?
